Teaching Artist Statement
Geisa Dutra is a Brazilian-American concert pianist, recording artist and music educator. She has been teaching private piano lessons, master classes and presenting lectures for over 30 years. Her teachings are based on the high values and benefits of music for a lifetime of growth. Some of Geisa’s students have gone on to enroll in highly regarded universities and colleges such as Berkeley and USC.
Teaching Bio
Geisa Dutra’s Bachelor in Music is from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, School of Music in Brazil. She has lived in Seattle since 1985 where as a full scholarship student, she received her Master in Piano Performance at the UW. Geisa served as faculty member at the Washington Academy of Performing Arts in Redmond, Washington, was a guest faculty and performer at Vitoria International Piano Festival (Brazil), taught privately in Germany, and has been a lecturer on multiple Music Teachers National Associations’ Conferences.
Performance Bio
Geisa has recorded and produced 5 solo piano albums: Brazilian and Spanish Piano Works; Chopin,Preludes; El Ultimo Tango – (Six Tangos by Astor Piazzolla); The Spanish Piano and her 2021 release : Gingando – 23 Short Pieces from Brazil.
She has performed as recitalist and concerto soloist in Brazil, England, Germany, Belgium, United States and Canada, including broadcasts on classical radio stations, NPR and Television. 👉geisadutra.com
